Very bad choice! |

I paid way too much for this item. The price dropped on line by over $30.00 right after I found the dented box at my doorstep two days after I ordered it. Then I hooked it up and found that it could not play DVD's too. I put in 5 music CD's and half way through the first CD and second song it made a weird thumping noise and was spinning out of control. I removed the 5 CD's unplugged the thing and put it back in it's box. I still have not heard from the company 'Video & Audio' Center about what they will do.What about you Vinylrecordsandhomeaudio? How do you protect your customers? |

Unreliable |
I teach middle school general music.
I use both commercially produced CDs and CDs that I burn in my MacBook.
I purchased the Sony because I needed a reliable CD player that could accommodate multiple disks.
I've been using the Sony for several months now, and I am disappointed to report that it regularly contributes an element of randomness and unpredictability to my presentations. As many other reviewers have stated, the Sony often fails to recognize a CD, even a commercially produced one. This afternoon, I tried to get a CD to play in at least four different trays before I finally gave up and played it from a CD boom box.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why a CD will play from one disk tray and not from another. Sometimes the CD will play perfectly during one class period and refuse to play from the same disk tray during the next period.
I am about ready to junk the Sony and try to find a reliable player. What I find fascinating is that some reviewers state that their Sonys work flawlessly for them. I guess I got one of the ones manufactured on a Friday afternoon. |

I purchased this Sony 5 cd player to replace another brand that had worn out. It was easy to hook up, has great sound and you can't go wrong with the price. I would recommend this player to anyone who is interested in not having to spend alot of money and still wants a quality product. |

Good Equipment |

Contrary to many reviews, this product worked just fine out of the box. It operates as well as previous Sony units I purchased years ago. The shuffle mode works just fine. My neighbors at the lake just love the variety of good old rock and roll music that the shuffle mode allows.. |
