long-time user very disappointed |
I have used Mastercook for years and have a large number of recipes and custom ingredients on MC8. On Aug 7 I purchased MC11 but today I gave up and uninstalled it. Why? With help of Yahoo Mastercook group I opened my MC8 cookbooks, but even with their suggestions could not transfer over my ingredient list. Even though this is supposed to be a new version, the ingredient list and nutritional calculation have not been updated, so the nutritional does not match the standard nutritional label (i.e. sugar calculation!). It's hard to see what MC11 offers that is worth entering all my ingredients again, so I have gone back to MC8.

Disappointing |

I have yet to merge Version 9 Master Cook with the new Version 11. Version 11 has no button to just merge as the previous versions had. The instructions to merge are unclear as to what steps you must take. A big disappointment as I have enjoyed several earlier version. |

I had to upgrade my old copy (version 4.06) when I got a new computer - all my old "self-recipes" migrated, had to first export them, then pulled them over via the file system - I really like this software for saving my individualized recipes! |

Does everything I need it to! |
I was looking for software that would make it easy to enter and organize recipes and that would provide complete nutrition information for the recipes. This this program does those things beautifully. I've had MC 7 on my desktop computer for quite awhile, but when I got a laptop to keep near the kitchen, I purchased this version. I haven't explored downloading and organizing recipes from the internet, but I'm sure I'll get to it.
I find it easy to navigate and use, and am very happy with it! |

I have been using Mastercook since version 2. Right now I am using version 9. This new version really doesn't offer anything new. In fact, I am taking it off my computer. I feel that the manufacturer is taking advantage of the loyal Mastercook users. |
